Terms
These terms cover this website and the Meanwhile waitlist. By getting in line you agree to them, and to the privacy notice. The app will have its own terms when it opens.
What joining means
A place in line is a place in line. It is not a membership, a reservation, or a promise that you will be invited, or by when. We invite people in small groups, chosen by a person, so that those invited together can actually play each other. We may decline or remove an application, and we may change or close the waitlist.
There is no app to sign into yet and no matching running. The membership price and features shown on this site are the current plan, not an offer, and may change before launch. Saying you would pay for a founding membership is an expression of interest. It charges nothing and commits you to nothing.
Who can join
You must be 18 or older, and for now you need a United States mobile number. One person, one application, with your own name, phone and email.
Playing fair
You agree not to:
- apply more than once, or for someone else without their knowledge;
- use internet or disposable phone numbers, or made-up details, to hold extra places;
- add links or profiles that are not yours;
- create applications or addresses to inflate your referral count;
- use scripts to flood the waitlist, or probe or attack the service.
You are welcome to have your own AI agent fill in your application for you. It is your application, and you are responsible for what it submits.
Applications that break these rules are removed, along with any advantage they gave anyone else.
Text messages
By ticking the text message box you agree to receive SMS notifications from Meanwhile about your waitlist status, invitations, and account access, starting with a one-time verification code. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out. You will get one message confirming it, and no more after that. Without texts we cannot verify a phone number, so an unverified application cannot enter the line.
- Reply HELP for help, or write to [email protected].
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How we handle your number is in the privacy notice. We do not share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing.
What you send us
Your answers and links stay yours. You give us permission to use them to run the waitlist, as the privacy notice describes, and you confirm they are true and yours to give. You can delete your application at any time from your place in line.
Our content
The Meanwhile name, the writing, the illustrations and the design of this site belong to us. Please do not copy them or pass them off as yours.
No warranties
The website and the waitlist are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise the site will always be available or free of errors.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Meanwhile is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from the website or the waitlist, and our total liability for any claim is limited to one hundred US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes belong in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that affects you, we email everyone in line at least 14 days before the change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page moves. Staying in line after that date means the new version applies. If you would rather not, delete your application.
